Anushka Shetty is known to be an ethnic Tuluva. She’s the only sister of her two elder brothers, Sai Ramesh Shetty & Gunaranjan Shetty.
She did her Bachelor of Computer Applications from Mount Carmel College in Bengaluru. She’s trained in Yoga under Guru Bharat Thakur and also used to be a Yoga instructor.
Career
Anushka’s acting career starts after her Yoga instructor Bharat Thakur suggested to try her part in acting. So in 2005, She made her first film appearance in the Telugu film Super by Puri Jagannadh.
A year later, she appeared in the Tamil film Rendu (2006), directed by Sundar C. After that, she did several films including, Vikramarkudu (2006), Astram (2006), Stalin (2006), Lakshyam (2007), Don (2007), Okka Magaadu (2008), Arundhati (2009), etc.
In 2009, Her film in which she did a lead actress role Arundhati was listed as the second highest-grossing Telugu film of all time and for which she received several awards such as the Filmfare Award, Nandi Special Jury Award, CineMAA Award, Santosham Award, Ugadi Award, South Scope Cine Award, etc.
Apart from acting, she’s been featured in different Telugu language songs including Nuvvu Ready Nenu Ready, I Wanna Spider-Man, Kedigaadu, etc.
Her acting career includes 5 Bilingual films (Telugu & Tamil) as of 2018 which are Size Zero (2015), Baahubali: The Beginning (2015), Oopiri (2016), Baahubali 2: The Conclusion (2017), and Bhaagamathie (2018). Baahubali series was a big hit that got Anushka Millions of followers across the country.
