Early Life
He was born on 10 April 1975 in Mumbai and grown-up there into a very poor family. Terence Lewis’s age is 46 years as of 2021.
His father wasn’t able to pay his school fee after he was 14 years old, He was a brilliant student. However, he started a job and started teaching aerobics to women and gathered money for his education.
Eventually, he changed his mind to becoming an Actor but later on, he decided to become a Dancer. Terence is now a famous Dancer & choreographer, who represented India in Vienna, Austria, and also won the danceWEB Europe Scholarship.
He was born into a Christian family to Xavier Lewis, who used to work at Modistone tires, and Teresa Lewis who used to work from home as a seamstress.
Lewis is the youngest of seven siblings. He did his early education at St. Teresa’s Boys High School in Mumbai & went to St. Xavier’s College in Mumbai for 11th & 12th grade.
After that, he did a diploma in Hotel Management from the Institute of Hotel Management in Dadar, Mumbai, and got enrolled in the University of Mumbai for a degree in Psychology and Sociology.
He also holds a certificate in Fitness training which he did from Progressive Fitness USA in Mumbai. He also did training in Contemporary Dance, Ballet & Jazz from Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, and the Martha Graham Center of Contemporary Dance.
Career
Terence started his career as a Choreographer for films including Lagaan (2001), Naach (2004), Jhankaar Beats (2003), etc and also made an appearance in the famous music video Badan Pe Sitare.
He has choreographed in Shows, Films, Bollywood Shows, corporate launches, contemporary performances, music videos, and also did many ad commercials.
Lewis is the winner of the 2002 American Choreography Award for his choreography for songs of the movie Lagaan which he performed alongside Saroj Khan, Ganesh Hegde, Vaibhavi Merchant & Raju Khan.
Apart from Choreographing, He’s been a judge in several reality shows including Dance India Dance (Season 1,2,3), Nach Baliye Shriman v/s Shrimati, Nach Baliye Season 5, & Chak Dhoom Dhoom.
He participated as a contested in the popular reality show Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi Season 3.
